Herb Wiley graduated from CHS in 1956.  He played football and baseball all through school earning all-league honors at tackle in his senior year.   After school, he worked part-time in his father’s automotive repair business in West Chester and later expanded the entire business to include a body shop, towing operation, and used car sales.  Wiley’s Car Care is still in business now being run by his son.  Herb was an Army veteran seeing active duty from 1959-60 and was on active reserve from 1961-65.  Herb was an avid golfer but his greatest love was Conestoga Football.  He was a long-time member of the TE-Conestoga Football Association serving on the board and as president.   Herb was instrumental in the development of the Association’s scholarship program in 2005, which continues to benefit senior, matriculating Conestoga Football players.

Herb passed away on November 13, 2014.

To honor Herb, the TE-Conestoga Football Association has established a scholarship in his name.  Herb did all tasks guided by the statement “Do it with Passion and Commitment!”  Thus the scholarship was named the Herb Wiley Passion and Commitment Scholarship.
